General Dentist and General Dentistry explained

General dentists are the primary dental care providers for patients of all ages.

A general dentist takes responsibility for the diagnosis, treatment and overall coordination of services to meet your oral health needs. He/she can treat you and your entire family and care for your overall oral health.

If you need a specialized dental procedure performed, a general dentist may work with other dentists to make sure you get the proper care.

Most general dentists are highly educated and trained on several different dental procedures. Instead of specializing in just one area of dentistry, he/she can provide plenty of different dental services. A few examples:

- Cosmetic procedures
- Crowns and bridges
- Dental implants
- Gum disease treatment
- Orthodontics
- Dentures
- Partial dentures
- Restorative care
- Root canal treatment
- Oral surgery
- Teeth cleanings
- Home care instruction
- Mouth guards
- Nutrition counseling
- Sealants
- TMD/TMJ therapy
- Tobacco cessation

Hi Theron, How do you like RETIREMENT so FAR? Isn't it wonderful? I assume you have moved to some where in the Pittsburgh, PA area...I'd love your address and phone number and e-mail.?? Please!!
Carol and I sure APPRECIATE YOU and ALL YOU DID FOR US....and, YOU are appreciated MORE and MORE each and every day you are gone.. THANK YOU SOO VERY MUCH for generously sending us your check for redoing the Implant that fell out....I think she HELD US UP, but I was NOT in a position to begin shopping around..
We were in your Home State, CA visiting our son, Mike who just purchased a home in Castaic, CA 91384. While we were visiting him, my bridge that you had placed over my top front teeth, ALL OF A SUDDEN FELL OUT! Fortunately my son's fiancee is a dental hygienist and had Poly grip or Fixadent in her bag, and it being Saturday night she was able to glue it in, SAVING the night and party for my son's Birthday and Home warming.. We were leaving the next day for home, and her dentist was in Hollywood (48 miles) so I opted just to take the glue she had for the trip home. While the bridge was off the tooth on the far right was broken off and infected and as soon as I got home I had to find a dentist (NEVER) to replace YOU. Since I had known Betsy Crosswell since Stanley Apter brought her in to take over his practice, I called for an appointment. Initially, I never even got to talk to her, but as her receptionist and bookeeper made the appointment, she told be that the initial visit would be about $400, after it settled in overnight , I called her back and questioned what had to be done for $400, she said complete x-rays, cleaning and evaluation, after I complained she called me back CREDITING $100. I only saw Betsy for maybe 10 minutes, she said I needed to go back to Steve Reiner to have the tooth removed as she did't do any surgery. It took Steve about 2 minutes after he numbed me and stitched the incision, and charged me $500, but gave me a professional discount of $50. THESE GUYS ARE HIGHWAY ROBBERS...THEY BUILD UP THEIR STAFFS SO THEY CAN CHARGE THESE FEES.
All I wanted is a GOOD DENTIST LIKE YOU, or even Stanley Feinstrein who I used before you, who took good care of ALL my dental needs without having to pay for a whole staff who do nothing.. I must tell you that Betsy's hygienist did an excellent job, but her NAZI assistant hurt me three or four times, each time worse than the preceding. Today, when the implant fell out again, I thought I should have heard from Crosswell's office to at very least set up a follow up appointment....and, I was still "pissed off" at her clumbsey assistant for hurting me continually, and upset that Betsy with her high priced services did NOT have time to discuss what she was going to do, and WHEN. So I called her, and told her straight out that I was annoyed at her receptionist asking me how I was going to pay (I think I have earned the reputation I have about paying bills. And, of course sent her payment in full the next day.) and about her assistant who hurt me, and that I do NOT want her to ever touch me again, and if Betsy can NOT live with that than I will find another dentist, and lastly after she finished up with me, I asked if I could please speak with Betsy, but she was too busy to speak with me even after I offered to wait. And, lastly I asked Betsy , if she is so high classed, then why she never asked me if I grind my teeth at night, and should have measured me for a "Night guard". . I think I embarrassed her (Betsy), and cut her down a few notches...and, I do NOT know if she will continue me as a patient or NOT.. I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE ASKED YOU FIRST, BUT IS THEIR ANY DENTISTS IN OR NEAR MIDDLETOWN THAT YOU MIGHT RECOMMEND???

ALSO, CAN YOU PLEASE CALL YOUR DENTAL MAN, TOM OR TIM, AS I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE A DENTAL GUARD, AND HOPEFULLY HE MAY STILL HAVE MY MOLDS SO HE CAN MAKE ONE FOR ME. (Or, if he wouldn't mind, I can always go to him and he can take a new mold of my mouth. Whatever the cost SHOULD GO TO YOU....YOU DESERVE IT, and CERTAINLY EARNED IT! And, frankly I refuse to let he make anything on it, as she forgot to even ask me if I grind my teeth.
